To celebrate the completion of 𝑨𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒓 𝑺𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒂𝒉, our Moroccan Nusach course, the Egalitarian Sephardi Mizrahi Kehilla of NYC and Let My People Sing! invite you to a festive Shabbat Service led by Laura Elkeslassy and students followed by celebratory Shabbat dinner. All are welcome.

This series will cover piyutim (liturgical poems) from Selichot, Rosh Hashana, and Yom Kippur in the Moroccan Nusach. It is intended for all who would like to familiarize or deepen their knowledge of the Maghrebi Nusach for Yamim Noraim (High Holidays). This series is open to all.

On Sunday, October 6th, IMAN (the Inner City Muslim American Network in Chicago) and community partners are coming together in the spirit of peace, justice and unity for a gathering dedicated to creating connections and communal healing, while raising desperately needed support for families in Gaza

The Mazals is an incredible opportunity to join together with other musicians and activists in lifting up the vision and bravery of our community.

We have been through a year of never ending horrors, horrors that continue to unfold in all their gravity upon us. On Sep. 12 we will lean on the Arab Jewish custom of daily Selichot prayers in the month of Ellul, to open a space of deepening and reflections in preparation for the High Holidays

You are invited to join us for Mimouna - the Moroccan Jewish holiday closing out the 8 days of Passover. The event will start at 7 PM on Tuesday April 30 at Barzakh Cafe (147 Utica Avenue) in Brooklyn: this Mimouna gathering will be different from years past, but still meaningful.

Please join us for a day-long symposium on Jewish music-making in Muslim lands, culminating in a concert in Marquand Chapel on the Matrouz material of North Africa with singer Laura Elkeslassy.

Mizrahi Music, Feminist Perspectives explores the histories and current revival of the diverse musical styles of Jewish women from the Middle East and North Africa.
