Theater

Laura Elkeslassy holds an MFA in Acting from Columbia University. Theater Credits include the National Opera of Paris, the Venice Film Festival, La MaMa ETC, Classic Stage Company, Noor Theater, The Rattlestick Theatre, Mabou Mines, The New Ohio, Target Margin Theater, HB Playwrights, Here Arts Center, and Irondale Theater. 

 

Highlights include The Franca Rame Project (a radical piece in 5 languages based on second wave feminist texts) at Irondale, Between the Threads (a devised piece on Jewish Women) at Here Arts Center, the critically acclaimed new play The Workshop (NY Times Critics' Pick), where she performed opposite Austin Pendleton at HB Playwrights Theater and The Maids at La MaMa ETC.

 

Laura was the Co-Founder & Director of L'Atelier Theatre NY for 9 years, where she taught acting and directed plays in French for a New York audience. Past productions include The Meiser, The Imaginary Invalid by Moliere, On the High Road by Chekhov, La Dame de chez Maxim by Feydeau and Rhinoceros by Ionesco.​ 
 
In film, she has appeared at the Venice Film Festival, and this year in One Thousand and One Jewels by Ariella Aisha Azoulay at Luminor Paris, The Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations, Marseille and  Palau Moja in Barcelona. The film was selected in Artforum’s Top 5 of 2025.
